Terms of Service

Last updated: [OWNER: date you publish]

Template for a small independent game. Fill in every highlighted placeholder and have it checked before you take payments.

These terms are an agreement between you and [OWNER: your legal name or business name] ("we", "us"), the maker of RESSAC, a skimboarding game played in a web browser at playressac.com (the "Game"). By playing the Game or creating an account you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Game.

1. Who can play

You need an account to play. To create an account (including signing in with Google) you must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, you need permission from a parent or guardian, and they should read these terms with you.

2. Your account

3. Buying the Game

4. Seasons, progress and leaderboards

Seasons end and new ones begin. Ranks reset each season; your career, riders, boards and cosmetics carry over as described in the Game. We may reset, adjust or remove leaderboard entries that we believe were achieved by cheating, exploits or tampering.

5. Fair play

Don't cheat, modify the Game or its network traffic, use bots, attack our servers, or try to access other players' accounts or data. We may suspend or delete accounts that do.

6. Your clips

You can export clips of your runs and share them anywhere for non-commercial purposes, including social media and video sites. Tagging @playressac is appreciated. The Game's art, code, music and name remain ours.

7. Ownership

The Game, including its code, graphics, sounds, logo and the name RESSAC, belongs to us. Your purchase gives you a personal, non-transferable licence to play it. Locations in the Game are fictional places inspired by real beaches; the riders are fictional.

8. Changes and availability

The Game is a live, in-development product. We may change, add or remove features, and the Game may sometimes be unavailable. We may update these terms; if we make a big change we'll say so on the site.

9. No warranty and limits of liability

The Game is provided "as is". To the extent allowed by law, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the past 12 months. Skimboarding in real life is dangerous; the Game is not instruction.

10. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of [OWNER: your US state], United States, except where the law where you live gives you rights that can't be waived.
